How Much is Leg Room Worth?

Filed under: Luxury, jetBlue — mike @ 4:30 pm
Comments (0)

Is it worth a little extra money for the chance e to stretch out? Does added legroom in coach bring us one step closer to feeling like we’re in first class? The answer is probably “no” to the latter question, but the answer to the former is a bit more up in the air. People, especially those with long legs or a love of personal space, are more than willing to pay a little more for leg room.

As reported in the New York Times, last week “jetBlue selling optional seats with 38 inches of pitch - four inches more than its standard seats…”

Depending on the distance your flying, the extra leg room will run you between $10 and $20. Of course, jetBlue isn’t the only airline charging travelers for a little more comfort. Check out a sample of the fees you can expect to pay is you want to stretch out on the plane the next time you fly…

Luxury for Less: Airfare + Hotel

Filed under: Luxury, Great Deals, Hotels — mike @ 5:12 pm

It seems a little irrational, but there are times when combining your airfare with a stay in a luxury hotel or with rental of a luxury car can actually cost you less than the airfare itself. You can also find great travel deals that provide you with additional nights in 4-star hotels and resorts for no extra cost. Sure in a world where retailers seem to add charges whenever they possibly can, this all seems a little bit like a plot to an episode of “The Twilight Zone,” but fear not, these deals are for real.

You can often find these luxury offers from the airlines or the resorts themselves. They’re especially popular during off-peak travel to destinations like Las Vegas, New York, Telluride, and Orlando. Before you grab the sleep mask and prepare for a week of pampering, though, make sure the luxury travel deal your looking into is actually a deal…
