Nothing quite says Las Vegas like a magic spectacle featuring a TV star and a touch of Cirque du Soleil. Well, that’s exactly what the Luxor has to offer. Criss Angel of “Mindfreak” fame has found a home at the hotel/casino, and he can be seen conjuring illusions on a regular basis.

For a limited time, you can stay at the Luxor and pay as little as $55 for the show. However, if a “dramatic production (that) is not for the faint of heart” isn’t your thing, you can opt out of the show and take advantage of the Luxor’s lowest rates. Find rooms on select dates for as low as $50/night.

Frequent Flier Gifts for the Holidays

Some say it is better to give than to receive. Others think that’s just the polite thing to say. However, with frequent flier programs, you can do both this holiday season.

Carriers like American Airlines and US Airways give you the chance to purchase frequent flier miles for loved ones, and on top of that, you’ll receive a percentage of the total miles purchased. Buy a gift, get a gift. Not a bad day of shopping.

Of course, there are restrictions, so check out Wish List: Airline Tickets, Gift Cards, and Miles for more details and more airfare-related gifts.

With the recession at home and the current global economic situation, many travelers are shying away from taking to the skies for a winter vacation. What if instead of holding off on air travel, though, you go a totally different way and book a luxury business class flight overseas?

It might sound crazy, but we’re actually seeing some great international business class bargains. It seems the airlines have finally noticed that business and leisure travelers are staying away from the front of the plane, and the carriers want those seats filled.

FareCompare CEO Rick Seaney took an in depth look at the new wave of transcontinental business class bargains on ABCNews.com and on his blog this week. Check out ABCNews.com Column: Recession Bargain - Business Class for all of the details and a look at ways to save on luxury.

American Airlines has gone back-to-back-to-back. For the third straight year, Global Traveler Magazine has named the Ft. Worth-based carrier “Best Airline for Domestic First Class.”

As we’ve seen perks disappear for business and leisure travelers sitting at the front of the plane, American Airlines has vowed to offer a travel experience that separates them from the rest:

“We know that each day, we have to compete for and win the loyalty of our business travelers. We strive to differentiate ourselves from competitors by investing in products, service and network enhancements that make the travel experience convenient, reliable and productive…” (Kurt Stache, Vice President and General Sales Manager at American Airlines - from MarketWatch)

It’s clear that Global Traveler readers are fans of American, but what do you think? Does American’s first class service deserve the win again?
