Is it worth a little extra money for the chance e to stretch out? Does added legroom in coach bring us one step closer to feeling like we’re in first class? The answer is probably “no” to the latter question, but the answer to the former is a bit more up in the air. People, especially those with long legs or a love of personal space, are more than willing to pay a little more for leg room. As reported in the New York Times, last week “jetBlue selling optional seats with 38 inches of pitch - four inches more than its standard seats…” Depending on the distance your flying, the extra leg room will run you between $10 and $20. Of course, jetBlue isn’t the only airline charging travelers for a little more comfort. Check out a sample of the fees you can expect to pay is you want to stretch out on the plane the next time you fly… |
Sample Fees for Extra Legroom (domestic flights):
- jetBlue - $10 to $20
- Northwest Airlines - $15
- United Airlines - $25 to $30 (if available - Economy Plus seats given to frequent fliers)
