Starting on May 5, eos will open a new route from Newark to London. The all business class airline is set to start service to Dubai from London in July. These new routes will up the competition with rival business class carrier Silverjet. Silverjet already offers service to both of those cities. With eos branching out, we could see reduced some cheap business class flights come our way. As competition heats up, Silverjet won’t be the only carrier trying to get a piece of the transcontinental business class action. We could see major airlines like British Airways and even some US-based airlines try to attract business class travelers with lower airfare, increased frequent flier benefits, added amenities, and more.
Added competition is generally a good thing for travelers. We’ll have to wait and see how others in the industry react to eos’ expanded service.
